The Veterans Services Center at Hodges University will hold its second annual Veterans Fair on June 29, at its Naples campus, 2655 Northbrooke Drive, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event is open to all active duty military personnel, guards & reservists, as well as post 9/11 veterans and their family members. There is no charge to attend.
Hodges is currently reaching out to the local corporate community for help in providing information, services, and career opportunities to the veterans in our community. “We are looking for all types of vendors: from employers wanting to hire veterans, to those that service veterans and those companies that give discounts to have a table to promote to the veterans,” said Lee Smith, Director of Veterans Services at Hodges. Several local businesses have already signed up to participate, including 7-11 stores, Arthrex, Cintas, Dignity Memorial, Florida Works, Northwestern Mutual and others.
Currently, over 300 Hodges University students are veteran heroes who placed their lives on hold to protect our freedom while serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the world. The event is geared towards recently discharged veterans who are interested in the many services available to them in gratitude for their service to our country.
Local businesses wishing to take part in the event are urged to call Lee Smith, Director of Veterans Services, at (239) 938-7833.
