The Hispanic Institute has announced plans to hold an informational forum on civic engagement for the Hispanic community. The event is free and will be held on Friday, March 9, from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at Hodges University’s Ft. Myers campus, 4501 Colonial Blvd.
Among the topics of discussion will be getting to know your public official; how public officials represent the community; how their role impacts our daily lives; and what the civic role of each citizen is. The panelists on the Forum include Sharon Harrington, Supervisor of Elections; Ken Wilkinson, Property Appraiser; Linda Doggett, COO for the Clerk of Courts (representing Charlie Green); Tammy Hall, District 4 County Commissioner; and Ray Judah, District 3 County Commissioner.
