Calling Contestants for Jeopardy!
If given the clue “International College” and Alex Trebek’s advisement to provide an answer in the form of a question, the correct response would be – “Where will Jeopardy! conduct a contestant search?”
On April 6, 2005, WBBH-TV and International College will co-sponsor a contestant search from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the college’s campus located at 2655 Northbrooke Drive (off of Immokalee Road) in Naples.
Lori Grimaldi, WBBH Director of Marketing, says with the arrival of the Jeopardy! Brain Bus, the first 1,000 people in line are guaranteed an opportunity to take a 10-question pre-test which will be administered as part of the qualification process.
Grimaldi adds that area residents will also have an opportunity to interact with the Jeopardy! Clue Crew and participate in a “just-for-fun” version of the game.
There will also be an opportunity to win various prizes from The Clue Crew and receive special offers from Time Magazine, the official sponsor of the Brain Bus.
JEOPARDY! has ranked first in Nielsen ratings for the genre for more than 1,000 weeks and garners an estimated 12 million viewers daily.
Since its 1984 syndication debut, JEOPARDY! has been honored with 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, more than any other syndicated game show.
Applicants must be more than 18 years old and cannot be employees or immediate family members of International College or Waterman Broadcasting to be eligible.
Eligibility is also excluded to anyone who has previously appeared as a contestant on JEOPARDY!; who has previously appeared on any version of the show with Alex Trebek; who has appeared on a game show, dating show, relationship show, or reality show in the last year (or three game shows, dating shows, relationship shows, or reality shows in the last 10 years); or who is related to, or acquainted with (in the last five years) anyone who works for Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., King World Productions, Inc., Sullivan Compliance Company, or any television stations broadcasting Wheel of Fortune or JEOPARDY!.
