Hodges ad campaign wins gold award for second year

For the second consecutive year, Hodges University has won a national gold award for its television marketing campaign in the 26th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by Higher Education Marketing. The Award is the largest educational advertising competition in the nation. This year, over two thousand entries were received from more than one thousand colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Hodges received a gold award in the “Television Advertising/Series” category for its series of “Follow the Leaders” commercials highlighting Hodges graduates who are now leaders in their field. Hodges also won a bronze award in the “Total Advertising Campaign” category which reviewed all of the University’s marketing efforts, including print advertisements, radio and television commercials, marketing brochures and other materials. 

“We are thrilled to be recognized once again by the Educational Advertising Awards,” says Dr. Terry McMahan, President of Hodges University. “In the competitive world of advertising, it’s important to design a message that stands out from all of the commercials that run day to day. 

“This campaign drew on the stories of many of our graduates who say how much the Hodges experience changed them for the better. We are extremely proud of our graduates, especially those that have been highlighted in this most recent series. Since many of our graduates use their knowledge and skills to become leaders in our community, we all benefit from a strong, highly skilled and well educated work force. We hope that the various messages featured in the series help demonstrate to prospective students what is possible with an education from Hodges.”

Entries in the competition were judged on their ability to meet the needs of knowledgeable prospective students who are making their own educational decisions. Judges for the Educational Advertising Awards consisted of national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of The Higher Education Marketing Report.

Higher Education Marketing Report is a leading marketing publication that serves college and university admissions professionals. The monthly publication is in its 27th year and is read by thousands of marketers at higher education institutions throughout the country.
