The Academic Committee of Hodges University has named
Chad Braken the student of the month for February.
The Academic Committee consists of the program chairs and other elected faculty, chaired by the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeanette Brock. Chad was nominated for recognition by Dr. Nancy Wyant, Dean of the Johnson School of Business.
“Chad is in his third wheel studying in the Management program,” explained Dean Wyant. “He is a transfer student who was not sure of his abilities to be successful when he started his first wheel. He quickly became comfortable with the accelerated learning environment and asked a few of his classmates to form a study group. He has been instrumental in keeping the study group going, and has increased his confidence as well as the quality of his work and writing.
“Chad is a student who is determined to succeed, and he is willing to do what is necessary to earn good grades. He is always prepared for class, participates in discussions, and is willing to try to understand a differing point of view. He speaks often of his children and how he is setting a good example for them by finishing his college education. Chad sees the value of education, and is someone who improves each term.”
As student of the month, Chad Braken will receive a recognition certificate and a $100 tuition credit.
