College Hosts Golf Tournament
International College will host the first of what is to become an annual golf and gourmet lover’s extravaganza, The Spring Classic, on April 2, 2005, at The Club at Renaissance.
Proceeds from the event, hosted Honorary Chairman Fort Myers Mayor James Humphrey, will be used to help equip computer and science laboratories at International College’s new Fort Myers campus which is scheduled to open in May.
Although participants in the shotgun start tournament will have an opportunity to secure some fabulous prizes and a gourmet feast, tournament sponsors can garner long term notoriety of their support through the availability of naming rights for faculty offices.
“At the $10,000 level of sponsorship, we are not only providing four tickets to the tournament and evening meal, but we are also extending the ability to have a faculty office established in the donor’s name,” says Phil Memoli from International College’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
“As the first phase of construction for our new campus is costing $15 million, it is important for us to hit a hole-in-one, so to speak, in terms of galvanizing support from the community. Our new campus and our academic mission both reflect the commitment International College has made to the region. Therefore, we hope participants view this tournament as something that is not only fun, but also fundamental to our future,” adds Memoli.
In addition to receiving a professional golf bag (valued at $170), participants have an opportunity to score some impressive items during a live and silent auction that follows the tournament. Memoli says items up-for-grabs include a Colorado vacation home, one year’s membership in The Club at Renaissance, spa packages and more.
