Hodges University Trustee Todd Gates will be the featured keynote speaker at Hodges University’s summer 2011 English as a Second Language (ESL) graduation ceremony. The event will take place on August 18, 2011, at 10:00 am, at the University’s Naples campus, 2655 Northbrooke Drive in the Science and Technology building. The graduation is a certificate and award ceremony which recognizes students’ accomplishments and their completion of Hodges’ intensive English program.
“We are honored that Trustee Gates will speak to our ESL graduates in Naples,” said Leisha Klentzeris, Director of the ESL program at Hodges. “His story of how he was able to build one of the most successful and respected companies in our area will certainly prove to be inspirational to our graduates in how their own future is as limitless as their imagination and hard work can take them.”
A native of Virginia, Todd Gates had been coming to the Southwestern region of Florida since 1969 and moved permanently to the area in 1984. As a resident, he has been involved in the project management of such projects as The Ritz Carlton Hotel, The Registry Resort, The Philharmonic Center of the Arts, as well as the Science and Technology building where the gradation will take place. Since 1993, Mr. Gates has been a principal of GATES. Today, the firm is Florida’s premier fully integrated construction, development and real estate company. This unique approach was recognized when the firm was awarded the Excellence in Industry Award for Innovative Achievement by the Economic Development Council of Collier County.
