The Academic Committee of Hodges University has named Christina Skaar the student of the month for November.
The Academic Committee consists of the program chairs and other elected faculty, chaired by the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jeanette Brock.
According to nominating professor, Dr. Valerie Weiss, “Christina was in my Anatomy and Physiology I class last semester and is currently taking Anatomy and Physiology II with me.
“Christina ranks at the very top of her class. She is hard working, conscientious and responsible; she always comes prepared to class with questions and contributions. Not only is Christina very capable, but she also works extremely hard outside of class. As part of each course, I require the students to take a quiz every week. Christina consistently earns perfect scores on these difficult quizzes. In addition, Christina does exceptionally well on the rigorous exams.
“In addition to being intellectually excellent, Christina is able to share her talent, skills, and knowledge in a meaningful and logical way during class and lab. This capability makes her extremely effective both as a student and a role model.
“Christina plans to continue her learning and, I suspect, she will be a life-long learner. This skill will translate into great leadership and service to her community. Christina combines emotional intelligence with intellectual intelligence in one highly motivated young woman.”
As student of the month, Christina Skaar will receive a recognition certificate and a $100 tuition credit.
