Professor Jeanne Von Ohlsen began teaching at Hodges University in 2010. She is currently the Program Chair of the Medical Assisting Program. Professor Von Ohlsen teaches Medical Terminology, Medical Office Administrative Procedures, Medical Assisting Clinical Procedures, Medical Assisting Laboratory Procedures, and Medical Law and Ethics. Prior to teaching at Hodges University, Professor Von Ohlsen taught part-time in Washington, D.C. for several years
She also has over 25 years experience in health care in direct patient care and management.
Professor Von Ohlsen received her bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and her master’s degree in Professional Studies with an Education Core from Hodges University.
Her professional certifications include Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) and Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) through American College of Medical Practice Executives. She maintains all of these certifications with continuing education credits and is currently a nominee for Fellowship.
Professor Von Ohlsen is widowed with 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time on the water and with her dog, Spirit.
