Hodges University Named Gold Military Friendly School for 2019-2020
February 11, 2019 –NAPLES/FORT MYERS, FLA – Hodges University has once again been named a Military Friendly School. The university earned the highest rank, gold, for this distinction. Of the over 8,800 schools considered nationwide, 766 earned this designation. Hodges University is one of only two schools that earned the Gold rank in the state of Florida.
“We recognize and value our veterans for their service to this great country,” said Leticia Pizarro, manager of Veterans Services for Hodges University. “Nearly 12 percent of our total student population has served, and we want to help them and their families make that transition from military to civilian and academic life.”
Hodges University has the Dr. Peter Thomas Veterans Services Center on both its Naples and Fort Myers campuses. It’s a place where veteran students can get answers to education questions and referrals to community resources. The university also offers VA work-study positions, ongoing events, and priority parking on both campuses.
To earn the Military Friendly designation, a school must meet or exceed a set of criteria in the areas of student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence, and loan default rates for all students, especially student veterans.
